The Ministry of Railways recently confirmed that the Harbin-Dalian, Beijing-Shijiazhuang and Shijiazhuang-Wuhan high-speed rails will all be up and running by the end of 2012. Once operational, the Beijing-Harbin (5 hour trip) and Beijing Shenzhen (8 hour trip) high-speed rail lines will be linked together. You'll be able to get from Beijing to Zhengzhou in only 2.5 hours, and Beijing to Wuhan in about 4 hours.
