According to price quotes from numerous travel agencies, post-Spring Festival travel package prices (departing Beijing) are cheaper across the board – even tours to island vacation destinations are more than 50% discounted. For example, the Beijing-Bali tour package, which was 13,000 RMB prior to Spring Festival, is now going for only 6,000 RMB. European travel package prices have also been reduced by 30-40%. According to an industry insider, prices should remain low for the two-month period following Spring Festival, making it a very good time for people on a budget to travel. In addition, flight ticket prices from Beijing and other major cities are also lower right now, although they are usually only about 10-20% discounted (mainly to major tourist destinations, such as Hainan, Kunming and Harbin, as well as to off-season tourist destinations, such as Qingdao, Dalian and Xi'an).
