Someone recently posted that they had seen “an older foreign man practicing Tai Chi movements in the middle of a crosswalk in Fuzhou, and that he was doing it to remind drivers to slow down.” While netizens praised the man's efforts, many were also upset about the circumstances leading up to it. Apparently, the foreigner, a Finish man, who works as a teacher in Fuzhou, became upset after noticing that for five straight days almost no vehicles stopped pedestrians to cross at the same crosswalk, especially the taxis and public buses. Fed up, he decided to, in the middle of the cross walk, bust out his Tai Chi moves to block traffic and remind the drivers to slow down. While many vehicles tried to force their way past the crowds as usual, this time they couldn't, as the man was blocking traffic with his fine display of martial arts. With traffic successfully blocked, the man motioned for the pedestrians to hurry across the street. One netizen commented: "This Finish man's actions make me feel ashamed, as I would never have done such a thing myself."

Yet another crazy foreigner huh? Doing Taichi in the middle of the road with that kind of frown on his face
That frown on his face was to show drivers the seriousness of their indifference to slowing down at cross walks. Hoorah for him.
I also slow traffic down, in a different way, on the school grounds -university, and outside the school gate where there is a major street way with a cross walk. One person can make a difference!
