The Harbin Ice Lantern Science and Art Exhibition is being held at the Guangdong Science Centre from January 29th-February 29th. The exhibition is hosting hundreds of meticulously carved ice sculpture works – including two giant sculptures that have apparently applied for entry into the Guinness Book of World Records! In addition to the normal daily schedule (09:30-19:30), the exhibition will be open all night long for the Lantern Festival (Feb. 6th). Tickets may be purchased for 80 RMB, with half priced tickets for patrons over the age of 60, children under 1.2 m tall and students.

I called the center. The lady said it's open all year.
