Kunming has four convenient long-distance bus stations from which visitors can enter the city from afar, or connect to the many different tourist hotspots in its vicinity. Travelers connecting to another destination should make absolutely sure they head for the correct bus station. They should also take care in the bus stations after dark.

South Station (Nanyao Qiche Keyunzhan)
As Kunming's major bus station, this provides bus services to and from regional destinations including Dali, Lijiang and Jinghong. Coaches range from economical to luxurious.

Western Station (Xizhan Qiche Keyunzhan)
The Western Station provides bus services to local tourist hotspots like Dali and Lijiang.

Huangtupo Station (Huangtupo Qiche Keyunzhan)
The fast-growing Huangtupo Station offers two sleeper bus services to Zhongdian (approximately 12 hours overnight). They depart the station daily at 3 pm and 7 pm.

Railway Station Square (Kunming Huochezhan Qiche Keyunzhan)
The bus station at Railway Station Square provides services to and from most destinations in the vicinity of Kunming. Coaches departing this station are not expensive.
