The bus network in Ningbo is quite extensive and is a very economical way to travel around, but notoriously jammed during rush hour. A single journey on a standard bus costs RMB 1, doubling to RMB 2 for the fancier air-conditioned buses. Visitors can buy an IC card (a stored-value swipe card) which is convenient and economical.
