Qingdao is easily reached by air, land and water. Qingdao Liuting International Airport lies 36 kilometers outside the city center, and serves as a regional and international airport with over 58 destinations.
Qingdao is a bustling seaport that mainly serves Japan and Korea. Numerous passenger ferry lines connect Qingdao with port cities in China and South Korea.
Qingdao is traversed by the Jiaoji Railway, which connects the city with Lanzhou, Chengdu, Xi'an Zhengzhou, Jinan and Jining. The city also runs direct rail services to and from Beijing.
Qingdao has many roads and expressways that radiate from the city center. Its expressways connect Qingdao with Jinan and other nearby cities and provinces facilitating transport by long distance bus.

Unlike many other cities in China, Qingdao's city roads follow the contours of the landscape. These roads are easily traveled by bus, taxi and car; and for those who dare – bicycle.
