The small city of Sanya has few bus lines, but they do manage to span the entire city. The Dadonghai Station to Civil Aviation Station (Minhang Zhan) line is probably the most useful. The network opens at 6:00am, winding down by midnight.
There are some tourist routes from Sanya to Yalong Bay, Tianya Haijiao and Nanshan cultural tour area which depart hourly.
One unusual feature of the Sanya bus network is the lack of stops: buses are stopped by hailing them like taxis. Fares vary depending on the destination, but the maximum fare will be no more than RMB8 for the longest possible journey on a luxury tourist double-decker.
