Suzhou Transport - Train

Suzhou is one of the most important cities on the Beijing-Shanghai Railway line. Suzhou station is conveniently located in the northern part of the city, with a taxi depot and bus station nearby. Travel to and from Shanghai is easy and fairly cheap. Trains to Shanghai leave every 20 minutes, all day, with ticket prices ranging from 20 to 50 RMB. Travel to Nanjing and Wuxi is also regular and convenient.

High Speed Train
In 2007, the High Speed Train (Dongche) between Suzhou, Shanghai and Nanjing began operation. The HST, which reaches speeds of 250km/h, offers the quickest travel option to Shanghai and Nanjing: the Suzhou-Shanghai trip takes just 42 minutes, and the Suzhou-Nanjing run takes one hour and 32 minutes. Tickets run from RMB 26 (business class) to RMB 31 (first class), and can be purchased at the Suzhou railway station.
