Tianjin currently has several direct trains to Shanghai (11 hrs), Nanjing (10 hrs), Jinan, Fuzhou, Hefei, Yantai, Qingdao, Shijiazhuang, Harbin, Shenyang, and Changchun. The city has 4 railway stations with Tianjin Railway Station and Tianjin West Station being the major two. However, Tianjin Railway Station is currently being renovated. Travelers departing from the temporary station near the Dongxing Intersection should arrive at the station at least half an hour earlier than planned. A new high-speed Tianjin-Beijing rail link will carry passengers between the two cities in 30 minutes: it is scheduled to open before the 2008 Olympic Games.
