Renting a car in Xiamen is quite simple for anyone with a Chinese Driver's License, but this requirement means it is not an option for international visitors. However, there is always the option of renting a car with a driver. Few drivers speak English: if this is going to be a problem, visitors should either ensure their driver is one of the few who does speak English, or have all their destination written in Chinese characters before signing on the dotted line.
