Entering Xining by road is very easy: all major freight is still taken by road, as is most local passenger transport.
Xining Long Distance Bus Station dominates the transportation within Xining. In the morning, buses leave for Dunhuang and Liujiaxia in Gansu Province, Suide and Xi'an in Shaanxi Province and also Henan Province. In the afternoon, buses depart for Lanzhou in Gansu Province, Golmud, Lhasa and Yinchuan in Ningxia Province.
